Richard Soparnot joins the governance of AGERA

At its General Assembly held on 26 March 2026, AGERA (Alliance des Grandes Écoles Rhône-Alpes Auvergne) unanimously elected a new Vice-President for Clermont-Ferrand: Richard Soparnot, Director General of Clermont School of Business.

An appointment within AGERA’s governance

This election marks Richard Soparnot’s entry into AGERA’s Executive Board, the body responsible for steering the association’s strategic direction. It reflects a broader dynamic of cooperation between leading institutions in the region, centred on shared initiatives in education, pedagogical innovation, and student life.

An academic and strategic background

A Professor of Corporate Strategy, Richard Soparnot holds a PhD and a habilitation to supervise research (HDR) in Management Sciences. His work focuses in particular on organisational transformation, innovation, and learning.

Throughout his career, he has held several senior leadership roles in higher education, notably in research, faculty management, and campus leadership, contributing to the development and transformation of management institutions.

Appointed Director General of Clermont School of Business in September 2022, he now leads the School’s strategic roadmap, with the ambition of strengthening its academic and international profile, while further affirming a positioning centred on pedagogical innovation, societal engagement, and close ties with the business community.

His thinking is now part of a broader reflection on the evolution of business schools, which are called upon to reinvent themselves in response to economic, technological, and environmental transformations.
