State recognition, accreditation and labels in France

Home State recognition, accreditation and labels in France

In France, Clermont School of Business is a school recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation / CEFDG since its foundation in 1919.

Visa, Grade and registration in the RNCP: the only guarantees of recognition by the State.

To find out more about how higher education works, the European LMD (Licence-Master-Doctorat) system and how it relates to our programmes, please consult this page.

Recognitions, accreditations and labels for our programmes:

Clermont School of Business Bachelor Programmes hold the Bachelor's degree.

Our two Bachelor programmes, Bachelor in International Management and Bachelor in Digital Marketing Digital & E-Commerce Management, obtain the degree of Licence, a new recognition in addition to the visa.

The Grande Ecole Programme of Clermont School of Business holds the Master Degree

The Master’s Degree is awarded by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, after the opinion of the CEFDG (Commission for the Evaluation of Management Training and Degrees). The Master’s Degree is a demanding label that only concerns courses at the bac+5 level.

Institutions are evaluated on the same criteria as the visa, but the level of requirement is higher in terms of research, the proportion of courses taught by permanent professors, and exposure to international exchanges. It is synonymous with a high level of professional and academic competence.

Finally, as the Master’s level is recognised worldwide, it facilitates the pursuit of studies and the search for employment abroad.

As the Master’s grade is not automatically awarded to a Bac+5 course, even if it delivers a diploma approved by the Ministry, it is important to pay attention to this detail… Only forty or so schools in France deliver a Bac+5 Master’s degree.

Clermont School of Business's Bachelor's and Grande Ecole Programme diplomas are aimed at Bac+3 and Bac+5 respectively.

A visa is granted for a specific training course and is issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, after the opinion of the CEFDG (Commission d’évaluation des formations et des diplômes de gestion). The Visa certifies both the validity of the diploma and its level, based on the organisation of the institution, its social policy, its teaching staff, its research activity, its international outlook, the professional integration of graduates, etc.

Clermont School of Business's Bachelor and Grande Ecole Programme diplomas are registered respectively at RNCP levels 6 and 7 recognised by the Ministry of Labour, Health, and Social Affairs.

The NCPR title recognises the match between a training course and the labour market, based among other things on the skills acquired during the training. It therefore links training to a trade or family of trades. The training in question is automatically registered in the RNCP, but the reverse is not true. Thus, only obtaining a Visa and registration in the RNCP guarantees full recognition by the State of a diploma and training.

  • Bachelor Digital Marketing & E-Commerce Management : RNCP – Fiche RNCP39421
  • Master Grande Ecole : RNCP – Fiche RNCP36567

The MSc - Master of Science programs and the Specialized Master's program in Human Resources Management and Managerial Innovation are labeled CGE (Conférence des Grandes Écoles).

Established in 2002, the MSc – Master of Science label from the Conférence des Grandes Écoles is awarded to a program delivering an institution’s diploma at the Bac+5 level.

The “Qualité Mastère Spécialisé®” label, a registered collective trademark owned by the Conférence des Grandes Écoles and registered with the INPI (French National Institute of Industrial Property), is awarded to a 12-month program delivering an institution’s diploma at the post-master’s level (Bac+6).

The Executive Bachelor in Management, MBA - Executive Master in Management and Specialised Master in HRM and Managerial Innovation programmes are registered respectively in the RNCP levels 6 and 7

The RNCP title recognises the adequacy between training and the job market, based on the skills acquired during training. It therefore links the training to a profession or a family of professions.

  • Mastère Spécialisé GRH et Innovation Managériale : RNCP – Fiche 36361

CDEFM – With the creation of the « Conférence des Directeurs des Écoles Françaises de Management » on March 25, 2021, management schools have a privileged space for sharing and discussion as well as a dedicated lever of visibility. The primary mission of the CDEFM is to act as their spokesperson to the French government, the European Union, student and employer associations, national and international accreditation bodies and other international bodies responsible for teaching and research.

In order to represent all the voices of its members, the CDEFM is organized around a board of directors and thematic commissions. Françoise Roudier, Dean of Clermont School of Business, is a member of this board along with 8 other school directors (AUDENCIA, EDHEC, ESCP, ESSEC, HEC Paris, NEOMA, SKEMA and TBS).

The Alliance des Grandes Écoles Rhône-Alpes Auvergne (AGERA) is an association (law 1901) which brings together 40 Grandes Ecoles of the Rhône-Alpes and Auvergne Region and is one of the most important regional conferences of schools in France. Its vocation is to represent all the schools in the Rhône-Alpes and Auvergne regions, local authorities in general, public authorities and regional, national and international bodies, and to propose themes for discussion, exchanges of experience, partnerships and the pooling of resources to its members.

The competition is open to students from general and technological economic and commercial preparatory classes, as well as students from literary preparatory classes B/L: Letters and Social Sciences and BEL: ENS Ulm ENS de Lyon, as well as independent candidates.

BSIS

Created and developed by the FNEGE (Fondation Nationale pour l’Enseignement de la Gestion des Entreprises) in partnership with the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development), the BSIS (Business School Impact Survey) aims to measure the various impacts of a management school on its environment in financial, economic and societal terms, but also in terms of innovation and image. The area selected for this study is that of the Grand Clermont, Riom, Issoire, Thiers and Vichy basins, i.e. the territory covered by the new Clermont-Vichy-Auvergne Metropolis. The conclusions of the study estimate the annual impact of the institution on the territory at 69 million euros.
