Focus on the Master in Management (Programme Grande École)

Accessible after a Bachelor’s degree (3-year undergraduate degree), the Master in Management is a two-year programme structured in two stages: Master 1 and Master 2.

It is designed for students who wish to build strong foundations in management while progressively developing a distinctive professional profile through an advanced specialisation.

Two-Year Excellence Pathway

Master 1: Choosing Your Professional Track
Students select a “professional track” from 8 areas of expertise, allowing them to progressively refine their career goals. This pathway is complemented by a common core curriculum including foreign languages, digital skills, project management, artificial intelligence, humanities and corporate social responsibility.

Master 2: Advanced Specialisation and Professionalisation
In the final year, students deepen their chosen track through advanced specialisation and prepare their Master’s thesis using both quantitative and qualitative research methods. This stage focuses on developing strategic and high-level professional skills.

Performance Management Track

The Performance Management Track within the Master in Management (Programme Grande École) is designed for students who wish to understand and analyse performance, as well as the drivers of value creation, in an economic, technological and regulatory environment that is constantly evolving.

Would you like to become a key player in strategic steering and sustainable organisational performance?

This track trains managers capable of producing reliable information, analysing performance across its financial, operational, social and environmental dimensions, and supporting organisations in their strategic decision-making. It is based on a multidisciplinary approach combining management control, financial analysis, information systems, data, audit and CSR management. The objective is to develop true strategic partners contributing to overall performance.

Developing key skills in performance management

The Performance Management Track aims to train professionals capable of structuring, analysing and managing organisational performance, while integrating the challenges of transformation, responsibility and compliance.

By the end of the programme, students will be able to:
  • manage performance using management control and financial analysis tools,
  • produce and analyse reliable and relevant management information to support decision-making,
  • align economic, social and environmental performance,
  • support organisations in their transformation and digitalisation projects,
  • ensure robust control and performance management systems within demanding regulatory and ethical frameworks.

A two-year structured track

The Performance Management Track is structured over two years and enables students to progressively move from the fundamentals of control and performance analysis to more strategic, cross-functional and forward-looking approaches.

Master 1– Exploring the Foundations of Performance Management

The first year enables students to acquire the essential foundations needed to understand how performance is managed within organisations. It covers the main tools and methods of management control, financial analysis and information systems, in connection with performance and transformation challenges.

Students develop strong analytical skills, enabling them to understand performance indicators, use management information systems effectively, and integrate social responsibility and digital transformation into performance management frameworks.

Modules include:

  • managing performance through management control,
  • managing performance through financial analysis,
  • managing performance through information systems and management control tools,
  • managing CSR and digital transformation projects through management control.

Master 2 – An Advanced Specialisation Serving Overall Performance

Audit & Management Control

In the second year, the Performance Management Track offers a single advanced specialisation: Audit & Management Control.

This year deepens the strategic, organisational and forward-looking dimensions of performance management. It enables students to better articulate control, strategy and transformation, while broadening their analysis to include social, environmental and overall organisational performance.

This specialisation also places emphasis on the digitalisation of management control, the evaluation of internal control systems, and the critical analysis of performance management frameworks in the context of economic, social and environmental transitions.

Modules include: :
– aligning control and strategy for more effective performance management,
– managing social and environmental performance,
– evaluating internal control systems within organisations,
– digitalising management control using digital tools and VBA,
– critically assessing control systems in times of transition,
– auditing global performance for sustainable management.

From financial control to overall performance: key skills in control and performance management

By the end of the Performance Management Track, students will have developed a set of skills enabling them to take on positions of responsibility in the fields of control, audit and strategic performance management.

They will be able to:

  • analyse and interpret financial and operational performance,
  • design and manage management control and reporting systems,
  • leverage information systems and data tools to support decision-making,
  • integrate CSR and sustainability challenges into performance management,
  • support organisations in their transformation and digitalisation projects.

Career opportunities

The Performance Management Track prepares students for a wide range of roles in companies, audit or consulting firms, as well as within finance and control departments.

Typical roles include:

  • Management Controller / Industrial Management Controller
  • Performance Management Consultant
  • Internal or External Auditor (audit firms)
  • Financial Reporting and Performance Manager
  • Budget Control Manager
  • CSR Manager with expertise in sustainable performance
  • Financial Analyst or Performance Analyst
  • Data Analyst specialised in financial performance
  • Business Analyst in ERP or financial information systems environments

Who is this track for?

This track is designed for students interested in analysing, structuring and managing organisational performance. It is particularly suited to those who wish to take on cross-functional roles at the heart of strategic decision-making, and who are looking for a balance between analytical rigour, a global understanding of organisations and a strong sense of responsibility.

In summary, this track is for you if:
  • you want to develop recognised expertise in performance management,
  • you enjoy analysing, structuring and securing decision-making,
  • you are interested in transformation, digitalisation and sustainability challenges,
  • you want to build a coherent and distinctive career path in control, audit or performance-related roles.
