Empowering Learners: A Personalized Pedagogical Journey at Clermont School of Business

At Clermont School of Business, we believe in placing the learner at the heart of our educational philosophy. Our commitment to fostering deep, enduring, and practical learning experiences has led us to embrace a learner-centered pedagogy. Over the years, we have dedicated ourselves to empowering our faculty to challenge traditional teaching methods, innovate, and experiment relentlessly and boost the educational journey of our learners.

Our Mission: Transformative Learning Experiences

At Clermont School of Business, our pursuit of pedagogical innovation revolves around four core missions:

  • Elevating our pedagogical ecosystem and its activities within and beyond our institution.
  • Enriching our pedagogical practices through ongoing academic, technological, and strategic exploration.
  • Supporting our pedagogical ecosystem in research, professional development, activity design, facilitation, and evaluation.
  • Fostering pedagogical innovation through interactive spaces and events that promote collaboration, reflection, experimentation, and the adoption of new teaching practices.

A Shared Philosophy: Putting Individuals First

Central to our pedagogical philosophy is the belief that each student is a unique individual deserving of utmost respect, recognition, and acceptance. Our faculty embodies this philosophy through a manifesto that underscores the importance of personalized attention, shared responsibility, and continuous learning.

A Culture of Collaboration: Engaging in Dialogue

At Clermont School of Business, we foster a culture of dialogue and exchange through thematic seminars and workshops organized by our Delegated Direction for Pedagogical Innovation. These platforms serve as forums for our faculty to reflect on their teaching practices and explore new approaches.

Pedagogical Seminars: Exploring Real-World Contexts

Our recent pedagogical seminar, held on June 8, 2023, in Chastreix, offered our faculty a unique opportunity to delve into the social and environmental dimensions of teaching through the lens of a local ski resort, Chastreix-Sancy. By immersing themselves in this real-world context, our educators gained valuable insights into incorporating experiential learning into their curricula.

Thematic Exchange Workshops: Addressing Key Concerns

Throughout the academic year, we hosted thematic exchange workshops focusing on vital topics such as motivation, engagement, evaluation, and peer assessment. These sessions provided a platform for our faculty to share their expertise, exchange ideas, and collaboratively develop innovative teaching strategies.

Free Resources for Continuous Learning

To support ongoing reflection and pedagogical development, we offer a range of reflective resources freely available to our faculty. These resources, including reflective sheets and literature reviews, are designed to inspire inquiry and enrich teaching practices across key themes such as motivation, engagement, and evaluation.
