Clermont SB: a new academic year marked by the visit of HugoDécrypte

To mark the start of the academic year, Clermont School of Business had the honor of welcoming Hugo Travers, also known as HugoDécrypte, one of the most followed content creators among students. This event was also part of Happy September, a highlight of the back-to-school period that fosters integration and campus life.

A leading figure in online information, Hugo captivated the many students gathered in the School’s auditorium with an authentic and spontaneous exchange, true to his signature style: a direct, clear, and straightforward way of explaining the world. Followed daily by millions of young people on social media, he embodies a new approach to breaking down current events, aligned with the expectations of younger generations.

Throughout the interview, skillfully led by Albane Dupin, a third-year Bachelor student specializing in “Media & Journalism,” Hugo showed remarkable openness and attentiveness. Students had the chance to discuss with him a wide range of topics: the importance of curiosity, the role of personal commitment, the value of projects pursued outside the academic framework, as well as more specific reflections on the future of the media, the challenge of neutrality, the evolution of information formats, and the growing influence of content creators in the media ecosystem.

A powerful message emerged from these exchanges: what one builds alongside their studies can be just as formative and decisive as the academic journey, provided passion and energy are invested in it. An inspiring reminder for students preparing to invent, in their own way, the models of tomorrow.

Before joining the auditorium, Hugo also took the time to meet with the very first class of the new “Media & Journalism” specialization, co-designed with ESJ PRO, the training branch of the Centre France Group. This small-group exchange allowed for a genuine face-to-face dialogue, giving students a high-quality moment rich in advice, authenticity, and inspiration.

By offering its students the opportunity to interact directly with a leading figure in new media, our School reaffirms its ambition: to provide impactful encounters, stimulate curiosity, and prepare each student to understand and address the major challenges of information and society in the future.
