Home HRM and Ecological Transition Management - Programme Grande Ecole Major

Are you seeking to delve into innovative methods and approaches to conducting business? Why not consider enrolling in a program that tackles real-world challenges and equips you with the skills for managerial and HR roles within the context of planetary boundaries?

Presently, human societies collectively confront an unparalleled crisis: the challenges posed by climate change and biodiversity loss, which carry profound implications, potentially rendering Earth uninhabitable.

Companies, directly affected by the need to change productive models, must integrate planetary boundaries into their strategy.

HR at the Heart of Ecological Transition

The concepts of responsibility (CSR) or sustainable development (SD) with engineering approaches are insufficient to address the complexity of a world where human actions are fundamentally connected to life on Earth.

So, how do we shift from administrative management to ecological transformation management?

HR can play a key role in ecological transition by implementing concrete actions, acting as a driving force in introducing new professional practices in service of ecological redirection.

They are among the key players capable of providing support to:

  • Companies undergoing the necessary transformations to produce differently,
  • Individuals who aspire to redefine their connection with work, enhance employability, explore mobility options, embrace telecommuting, pursue meaningful endeavors, and achieve a harmonious work-life balance…

This new major will offer avenues for introspection, a structured methodology, and a focus on tangible actions to confront the challenges arising from destructive production models. It aims to propose innovative practices that serve life’s interests.

How to do business? How to produce and what to produce? What should no longer be produced? etc. There is an urgent need to develop a new imagination and new representations of the world based on a more systemic, interconnected, and global vision, where the economic no longer takes precedence over the social and the preservation of natural resources.

A Major Anchored in Reality

Our pedagogical methods are always tailored to the specificities of the explored themes. They alternate between conceptual inputs and exercises and situational exercises based on cases and role-playing games. They are presented progressively throughout the modules.

A double effort is constantly made both on the container (Organization – Group life) and on the content (Knowledge inputs and situational exercises). A subtle combination is constantly sought between the contributions of the speakers and the expression of the participants.

3 key points to remember:

  • Exploration of novel practices involves embracing more participatory modes of expression through newly formed employee collectives dedicated to climate action. Anchoring the approach in stakeholders’ firsthand experiences of commitment to the planet is paramount. This includes fostering alliances with researchers and other experts, allocating resources and time to revitalize social dialogue, and dedicating specific time slots to ecological and climate concerns.
  • Participation in the collaborative workshop “The Diversity Mural”
  • Surveying the integration of sustainability into professions and workplaces

Cultivating skills focused on:

  • Pioneering and experimenting to confront contemporary challenges.
  • Embracing innovative approaches to business practices
  • Engaging in social inquiry and fostering novel forms of collaboration and solidarity
  • Exploring the evolution of professions and skillsets
  • Nurturing foresight abilities for future developments
