Clermont School of Business has just obtained the DD&RS Label
Clermont School of Business announces it has been awarded the DD&RS Label, a national recognition of the School’s structured commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility.
A certification embedded in the School’s strategic roadmap
The awarding of the DD&RS* label is part of the implementation of Clermont School of Business’s strategic plan, REVEAL 22–27, which places the socio-ecological transition at the heart of its priorities.
Committed to building a better world, Clermont SB adopted its first sustainable development and social responsibility strategy in 2022, aligned with the DD&RS label. This initial milestone laid the foundations for responsible governance and enabled the rapid rollout of concrete actions. Three years later, the School chose to update its Socio-Ecological Transition (SET) policy, making it clearer, more structured, and genuinely shared by the entire community.
The DD&RS certification crowns several years of collective effort aimed at integrating environmental, social, and societal challenges into the School’s overall operations—from governance to teaching, from research to student life.

An assessed and certified approach
Created in 2015, the DD&RS label—coordinated by CIRSES (the Collective for the Integration of Social Responsibility in Higher Education)—is delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Ministry for Ecological Transition, France Universités, the Conférence des Grandes Écoles (CGE), and the Student Network for an Ecological and Solidarity-Based Society (RESES).
It covers the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined at the international level and is based on a demanding framework structured around five pillars: strategy and governance, teaching and training, research and innovation, environmental management, and social policy.
The awarding of the label is based on a structured application and evaluation process, followed by an audit that reviews evidence of actions implemented by the institution across a wide range of indicators. This process certifies the effective integration of DD&RS issues into the School’s day-to-day missions.
Continuing to move forward through continuous improvement
For Clermont SB, obtaining the DD&RS label is not an end in itself, but a lever for further progress. It highlights actions already undertaken while encouraging the continuation of the approach, in line with the objectives set out in the SET strategy and the REVEAL 22–27 plan. This momentum engages all stakeholders in a collective project focused on more responsible practices.
The certification also underscores the maturity of the School’s approach to sustainable development and social responsibility, as well as its ability to align its activities with nationally recognised standards.
At Clermont School of Business, we firmly believe that higher education institutions have a vital role to play in supporting societal and environmental transitions and in training informed, responsible decision-makers capable of addressing today’s major challenges.
Did you know?
Since 2022, the School has integrated the DD&RS* competency framework developed by the CDEFM into its curricula. At the same time, each School department aligns its actions with the objectives of the REVEAL 22–27 strategic plan and reports its results annually to internal governing bodies, ensuring rigorous monitoring and a coherent trajectory. This monitoring is now complemented by SET-specific indicators, integrated into a shared, dynamic dashboard.
In particular, the School tracks reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, the share of responsible purchasing, employee well-being, student engagement in impact-driven projects, and scientific output related to the transition.
