Based on the methods developed by the SquareLab – Clermont School of Business’s Open Incubator – teams, the ”Startup Culture & Entrepreneurship” major will allow you to develop your entrepreneurial posture and to experiment with the methods of successful entrepreneurs while understanding the fundamental issues involved in the creation of new products or services: creativity and innovation, new business models, web marketing and co-creation, the use of social networks, etc.
You will take advantage of this major to consolidate your knowledge of consumer behavior and learn how to build a business plan. You will master the presentation of your ideas in the form of a pitch, the search for financing and the implementation of fund-raising. Finally, you will become familiar with all the latest entrepreneurial methods such as fluctuations, lean startup, design thinking and growth hacking!
When a new product or service launch goes wrong, it is often because it does not meet the needs of the customer. In fact, in more than 40% of the causes of failure, something is being built that nobody wants!
With this major, we invite you to explore new ideas and exploit them in relevant and effective business ways.
The methods taught in this major have been developed with successful entrepreneurs such as Olivier Bernasson, a pioneer of French e-commerce and creator of pecheur.com, or Gilles Chetelat, creator of StickyADS.tv, a company that was sold for $100 million to Comcast, making him one of the largest French start-ups.
They also draw on the experience and informed input of several innovation directors and incubators from major groups such as Michelin, Limagrain, Dentsu, Sopra Steria and Engie. These partners, and many others, are involved throughout the course.
This major is very strongly tinged with “learning by doing” and will enable you to use all these theoretical contributions on real projects.
Motivated students wishing to continue the entrepreneurial adventure can join the Square Lab Open Incubator, which will help them find financing, validate their clientele, and create their startup.
They can also validate their internship by working on their creation project by obtaining the status of student entrepreneur and thus write the first pages of a new success story!
